The annual canvass has begun in our districts and we are currently contacting residents to request that they check their details on the electoral register are up to date. This is to ensure that they do not lose their right to vote in future elections.

We appreciate that some residents may be concerned that this is a scam and we are doing all we can to provide reassurance. This includes advising of the emails in advance of them being sent, as well as numerous social media posts confirming that the emails are genuine.
If you are contacted, please note the following information so that you can provide reassurance:
- The emails were sent from: babergh.and.mid.suffolk.electoral.services@notifications.service.gov.uk
- They start: Act now so Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils can check who is eligible to be registered to vote at your address.
- They direct users to visit: https://www.registersecurely.com/BaberghandMidSuffolk
