May walks

Tuesday 10th May 2011

The Swan Public House at Harleston will be the starting and finishing point for this 4½ miles circular walk to be lead by Ray Skellorn. The route will take us along country lanes and field paths to Redenham Church before returning to the town. There are no stiles but there is one steep incline of around 200 yards. If you wish to join us on this walk please be at Palgrave Community Centre car park ready to leave for the starting point at 9.45 a.m. (Directions to The Swan - as you enter Harleston from the A143 turn left down Wilderness Lane just after the Cherry Tree P.H. and at the T junction, turn right down Swan Lane to the pub.  Please note that Swan Lane is not accessible from the main street in Harleston)

Tuesday 24th May 2011

Alan Gain will lead us on a circular walk of just under 5 miles starting once again from the Four Horseshoes Public House at Thornham Magna but this time heading south towards the villages of Wickham Street and Wickham Skeith. The route will take us along well trodden tracks, field paths and quiet lanes with no significant gradients and will include part of the Thornham Walks 6 mile loop. After the walk we will retire to the pub for refreshments. If you wish to join us on this walk please be at Palgrave Community centre car park ready to leave for the starting point at 9.45 a.m.
